Started in only 1988, Montes has quickly realized the dream of its founders: pioneering the production of premium quality, “first-growth” Chilean wine respected by critics and trade, while elevating the winemaking profile of Chile on the world stage. • Tasting notes

Tropical fruits and pronounced minerality reveal an undeniable presence of Sauvignon Blanc. Citrusy notes typical of cold-climate Chardonnay and Viognier complement this fresh medium-bodied palate.

  • Viticultural notes

The Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes are from Montes' vineyards in Aconcagua Costa. Proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the pronounced influence of sea breezes provide ideal conditions for grapes to ripen slowly and completely. The vines grow on low hills with moderate slopes. They are planted 5,555 plants per hectare and are trained to vertical shoot position. Highly variable soils range from sandy to clay-loam and lend this wine tremendous complexity, with great cold-climate typicity and an impressive aromatic palette. Pruning focuses on keeping the canopy intact until harvest to protect the bunches from the sun and preserving a very good level of aromas in the skins.
