The Gimonnet family has been growing vines in Champagne since 1750. In 1935 Pierre Gimonnet, grandfather of current owners Didier and Olivier, began producing champagne in the village of Cuis. Treve Ring, March 2017

If you shy away from rosé Champagne because you feel it lacks precision or tastes too fruity, this pristine, finessed example will change your mind. Delicate and intense, with rose petals colouring the chalky textural palate. A linear precision reflects the 96 percent chardonnay, while four percent still pinot noir from Bouzy brings the gentle pink hue, gentle cushion of cherries and red liquorice that floats on top. A grippy riff on the finish is lengthy and strawberry tinged. A lovely, finessed and linear example.

    Stephan Reinhardt, October 2015

Gimonnet's NV 1er Cru Brut Rosé de Blancs is made from Chardonnay with 6% red wine from Pinot Noir, and represents the light, fresh and refined Gimmonet style in pink. The version based on 2012 (disgorged in 12/2014 with 6.5 grams dosage) shows lovely red currant flavors and is very vivacious, mineral and delicate on the palate. It is enjoyed at its best when fresh.

    2016

A lithe and elegant rosé Champagne, this layers delicate acidity with a chalk-tinged, minerally underpinning and flavors of white cherry, almond skin, pink grapefruit granita and fleur de sel. Disgorged July 2015. Drink now through 2018.
