Saia, its name taken from the Arab word for the irrigation canals built centuries ago to collect rainwater, is made with 100 percent Nero d’Avola, an extraordinary grape capable of producing intense, full bodied wines. The alberello method of cultivation and the aging in French oak make it a wine that stands alone in its category. Fruity aromas with notes of mature fruit and spice.
The wine went through 20 days of maceration with regular punch downs and top offs. It was aged for 10-14 months in french barriques and then bottle aged for another 6 months.

Beautiful aromas of tile, spice, fresh Mediterranean herbs and oyster shell. Full body, firm and silky tannins and a polished and caressing finish. Lovely length and texture. One of the best ever from here.See detailed press review

Fruit ulle from bush-trained vines growing in the volcanic soils of Sicily's torrid southeastern corner form the basis of this rich nero d'Avola. A year in French oak barriques imparted subtle spice and velvety tannins, but it's the wine's taut acidity that drives the flavours of black raspberry and licorice.See detailed press review
