    First and foremost René Rostaing is a Côte Rôtie Specialist. He is renowned for producing tiny quantities of extraordinarily refined Côte Rôtie wines, which in the words of Robert Parker are "reminiscent of Grand Cru Burgundy in their delicacy, elegance and sublime qualities." René started out in 1971, with less than half a hectare of Côte Rôtie vineyards split between the Côte Blonde and La Landonne.   • Viticultural notes

    The vineyards of Condrieu start a few kilometres south of Côte Rôtie. This is one of France's smallest appellations, but ranks with the greatest in character and originality. It is from Condrieu that the Viognier grape traces its origins, and it is here that it achieves its highest potential.
