    June 2011

The 2006 Matallana spent 15-18 months in new French oak. It is more expressive aromatically with aromas of pain grille, mineral, Asian spices, incense, and blackberry. It opens in the glass to display layers of flavor, outstanding volume, and a brooding personality. Give it 4-5 years to fully blossom and drink it through 2026.
