  • About this winery

Established by the Shaunessy and Oldfield families on the South Okanagan’s legendary Golden Mile Bench in 1993, Tinhorn Creek is a very special winegrowing project, comprising 150 acres of spectacular vineyards in two distinct areas, one on either side of the valley. This ruby-hued  wine begins with an appealing aroma of blackberry and raspberry mingled with vanilla. Those brambly notes are repeated in the flavours of dark fruits framed subtly with oak. Notes of spice and black cherry persist on the lingering finish.

What used to be the Oldfield Series, is now Oldfield Reserve. It comes with a new label look, and the change (label colour/design and name) is not depicted in the attached photo. Cabernet Franc is one of Tinhorn's flagship wines, and new winemaker Andrew Windsor (since 2014) has continued Sandra Oldfield's work, continuously striving to make it better. Expect fragrant aromas of blueberry compote, wild currents, violets and woodsy aromas alongside mocha, cherry cola and dried sage. The palate is savoury; fleur de sel and dried herbs, peppery spices and dark mocha flavours roll into distinct tealeaf notes. Overall, structure and balance are rooted firmly in this wine, and it has a lengthy finish.
