We are committed to producing the world’s finest estate-grown wines, known for their quality, consistency and longevity. We are also stewards of the land; our vineyards are certified organic and Biodynamic® and we have converted to solar power at the winery. In harmony with nature, our wines are truly expressive of their terroir.

Growing grapes sustainably has always been a top priority at Grgich Hills. All of our vineyards are certified organic and farmed Biodynamically. This agricultural philosophy treats the Earth as a living organism and uses homeopathic preparations, cosmic rhythms, and nature’s basic life forces to bring about balance between the grapevines and the Earth. Since 2006, our entire 366 vineyard acres are Biodynamically farmed – the country’s largest Biodynamic vineyard acreage.

Grgich Hills Cellar was founded July 4, 1977 by Miljenko “Mike” Grgich and Austin Hills of the Hills Bros. Coffee family. Austin owned established vineyards and had an extensive business background, and Mike had just made his reputation as one of the world’s great winemakers. In the now-historic 1976 Paris Tasting, Mike’s 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay bested the top white Burgundies to win fi rst place, shocking the international wine community. In 2007 we changed our name to Grgich Hills Estate in recognition of our wines being completely estate grown.

• 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

  This is an elegant wine with aromas of black cherries and licorice and a long finish. Full bodied with smooth tannins, it’s the perfect partner with filet mignon, grilled steak or lamb chops.

• 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon

  Elegant and full bodied, the wine’s complex aromas of black berries, black licorice and a hint of cocoa powder are the perfect partner with grilled steak, roasted rack of lamb or venison stew.

• 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon

  This Cabernet is packed with rich aromas of black cherry, black licorice and a hint of roasted coffee. Its full body and smooth tannins make it the perfect partner with grilled steak, rack of lamb or roasted duck.

• 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Yountville Reserve

• 2006 Chardonnay

  Crafted from grapes that were certified organic and Biodynamic, our Chardonnay did not undergo malolactic fermentation, creating a wine that is alive with delicious acidity. This aromatic wine is rich with aromas of ripe peach, mango and tropical flowers, plus a note of minerality. Showcase this Chardonnay's elegance with fresh seafood, roasted chicken, grilled pork, or creamy cheeses.

  his 100% Sauvignon Blanc was made from grapes that were certified organic and Biodynamic at our cool American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, not far from the San Francisco Bay. The wine's crisp, elegant flavors of passion fruit, lemon grass and a hint of minerality at the end of the long finish are perfect with a green salad topped by Chevre cheese, grilled seafood or sauteed chicken breast.
