    A pale, intense yellow cast with aromas of pear, citrus, white peach, and guava. It has great freshness in the mouth with the subtle balance of white flower aromas and notes of citrus and exotic fruit. The persistence of the toasted almond aromas confirms that this is a great Graves wine.

  • 2009 Graves Rouge

    The Graves Rouge has a deep, vivid, red colour and a powerful and refined bouquet of red berries, pepper, and leather. On the palate, the silky tannins highlight the cherry, blackberry, nutmeg and licorice notes. The long finish is accented by spiciness and grilled flavours.

This utterly lovely blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle (60/20/20), offers aromas of honeycomb, straw, vibrant citrus, dried herbs and lanoline, lees and mineral notes. It has wonderful complexity and a slick texture and creamy weight balanced by brisk acidity and sweet fruit. The finish is clingy and lingers with fine spice and citrus peel flavours. Very good.

Pink grapefruit, rock and lemon, with an orange twist on the finish. Texture is a bit waxy and rich, which comes from extended time on the lees. Moderate acidity, mouth-coating and ripe, yet focused. This is a classic blend of sauvignon blanc and sémillon. March 2011

Let’s see affordable Graves (Bordeaux) that delivers. Love the richness and the freshness here and the subtle but correct mix of sémillon and sauvignon that spawns its white peach and guava aromas. On the palate it is a bit more exotic with orange and grapefruit nuances. Simply prepared fish dishes and or steamed shellfish are the ticket here. Good value. June 2011

...Like most Bordeaux from the region’s famed left bank (of the Gironde River), this wine is Cabernet-based, but fleshed out with Merlot.

The result is a fairly soft red with notes of raspberry, licorice and pipe tobacco. It would go well with roast pork, burgers and hard-ripened cheese such as Parmesan Reggiano.
