Graphics Design

The graphics design for this website was originally created by Graphically Speaking in Vancouver, BC.  It has since been modified as new content is added.  The goal was to create a professional looking website to consolidate and replace 4 other websites.  The design uses two non-standard fonts: Gotham Condensed (some titles and most menus throughout the site) and Luce Two (tagline line text).

Site Design

The website was built and is maintained by Claero Systems of Calgary, AB and Ottawa, ON. 

The site should work properly on any modern browser, including:

• Internet Explorer v6 or higher
  
• Firefox
  
• Safari
  
• Opera
  

Certain features are only available on non-Internet Explorer browsers, but these will all degrade gracefully.  Most of these features are design elements.

The following open source technologies are currently in use on this website:

• Apache web server
• MySQL relational database engine
• PHP web scripting engine
• Kohana v3 the swift PHP framework
• jQuery the write less, do more JavaScript library

The front-end of the website makes use of HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Google for providing a great free web site analytics service and an excellent Maps API that is used to generate the maps on this web site
• Font Squirrel for generating the cross-browser font files to support the use of the Gotham font on this website
