Daniel brings strong industry experience, a relentless passion for wine, and territorial knowledge of his native Vancouver Island to the Trialto team. Daniel’s technical training includes Camosun College’s Hotel & Restaurant Management program, a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, a Sommelier Diploma from the International Sommelier Guild as well as certification through the French Wine Scholar & Italian Wine Specialist programs.
He is a member of CAPS (Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers) and teaches part-time at Camosun College and for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). In the hospitality industry Daniel has had the opportunity to experience some of BC’s most beautiful resorts, managing Food & Beverage operations at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa; Sonora Resort – A Relais & Chateaux property in Desolation Sound; and the Oak Bay Beach Hotel in Victoria. As a Wine Sales Representative, Daniel’s approach is consultative, supportive, and focused – ensuring the right wine is identified for every scenario.
Daniel’s true passion, he’s come to discover, is his family; an amazing one-and-a-half year-old daughter and his wife who inspire him every day. Prior to family life, Daniel feels very fortunate to have travelled the world with his wife during breaks in seasonal hospitality employment, visiting over 50 countries, including Western & Southern Africa, the Middle East, Australia, South East Asia, China, India and Europe.
