Voted as Wine & Spirits Magazine's Winery of the Year 2012, Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler is a family owned and operated Wine Estate in Bernkastel on the Moselle River. The most important assets of the Estate are its vineyards. Extensive care of these vineyards, combined with selective handpicking that results in low yields, serve as guarantors for extraordinary wines with individual and unique character, vintage after vintage.
The winery's quality orientation is showcased in their state of the art wine cellar, while workﬂow is focused on gentle treatment of the grapes and the young wines. Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler's goal is to make unique low alcohol Rieslings such that each of the 25+ Riesling wines show individual vineyard character per vintage.
Extremely small temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks are used so that each vineyard production is fermented separately. The fermentation is both temperature-controlled and kept very slow at low temperatures in order to retain the full variety of aromas and the vitality of the wines.
The diverse collection of Riesling wines covers all the varieties found on a good wine menu, ranging from a juicy, hearty basic Riesling to ﬁne top-quality wines, including a creamy, sweet dry berry selection.
