Vinous on GIANNI BRUNELLI

Titre

Laura Brunelli's new Brunellos are superb. Brunelli benefits from having vineyards in both the southern and northern appellations of the region, which gives her an added degree of flexibility in crafting her blends, which is especially an advantage in challenging years. All of the Brunellos are made along classic lines and are aged in cask. Brunelli remains one of the undiscovered jewels in Montalcino.

April 2017

Wild berry, forest floor, chopped herb and a balsamic note are some of the aromas you'll find in this bright, elegant red. The vibrant, medium-bodied palate offers crushed raspberry, red cherry and baking spice flavors, buttressed by taut, polished tannins and fresh acidity. A blast of orange zest further lifts the finish.

Lovely bright and pale ruby shade. Fresh blackberry fruit nose leading into a balanced, tight, tangy and fine palate, with perfectly integrated tannins and a long fruit and mineral finish. Rare elegance for the vintage.

Wine Align / Chacun Son Vin, February 2017

Le Chiuse Di Sotto is beautiful, full and yet not so generous on the nose in sangiovese pure and simply wanting to give Rosso expressly to the palate. The mouthfeel graces better than most, not wanting for anything more than what it knows and has. Nothing astringent about this firm grip and of a concentration yet elegant in tension.
