This vintage exhibits aromas of raspberries, plums, tobacco, and oak. It is purple magenta in appearance with tasting notes of cherries, cassis, cloves, and toasted vanilla.
The 2013 vintage experienced an incredible growing season with superb weather two years in a row. This helped optimize the grapevines and allowed both red and white varietals to develop a wonderful concentration, an intense fragrance, and a perfect balance. The 2013 Claret offers layers of complexity with robust flavors, richness, and well-hewn tannins.
The 2013 Diamond Collection Claret is a combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. These grapes were harvested from the Coppola estate and other vineyards located in Napa, Sonoma, and El Dorado. This combination of climates resulted in a great complexity and an excellent balance for the wine.
