  • About this winery

Monster Vineyards is a boutique winery located on the Naramata Bench in the British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. The winery came to life in 2006 when the owners of Poplar Grove introduced this fun new line up of wines to the British Columbia market. Raising the bar for fruit-forward Okanagan wines, the Monster wines are fresh, fruity and ready to be set free upon release. Monster Vineyards is conveniently located at the gateway to the famous Naramata Bench wine touring route just down the road...

  • Tasting notes

This bruting Red Eyed Monster charges forward with plum, black cherries, and cassis on the nose. Soft, fruit-forward flavours of bramble and blueberry mingle with a hint of bitter sweet chocolate. This middle weight Monster presents great length on the finish with integrated tannins allowing this wine to stand up to red meat dishes with some heat.

  • Viticultural notes

Finally in 2013, Mother Nature offered a break from the previous few years of difficult and challenging vintages. The 2013 winter was fairly mild. An early and warm Spring saw the vines bud two weeks prior to normal average. Picking of the fruit was done at peak ripeness and flavour intensity. Overall, 2013 will go on record as a top vintage.

  • Winemaking notes

Made from a blend of red grapes the berries were hand picked and sorted in the vineyard. Each of the component varietals were fermented separately. The finished wines were then blended to taste by winemakers Stefan and Nadine.
