    Chiara Boschis has an incredible story. In a region where women winemakers are far from the norm she has built a collection of wines that is the envy of many. The E Pira e Figli estate was passed from father to son for centuries, until the late 1980’s when Luigi Pira passed away. At that time his sisters who inherited the vineyards felt that they could no longer maintain the estate.     April 2018

    Plenty of dried berries and herbs. Some meat, woody spices and a wealth of fresh red and pink roses, making this very fragrant. The palate has assertive acid cut and impressive depth. The elegant yet firm tannins hold the red-plum finish long. A great result with real tension.

    Tout en puissance et en ampleur, le Barolo Mosconi 2014 a toute la profondeur texturale typique de ce site de la commune de Monforte. Cerise noire, prune, fumée, réglisse et encens sont au nombre des nombreuses notes qui constituent le cœur de ce vin généreux. Il sera intéressant de voir si le 2014 s’intégrera pleinement en bouteille. Aujourd’hui, il est décidément viril et un peu monolithique.
