James’ love of wine began while working in restaurants in his home province of Ontario, and blossomed into a career after moving to Calgary in 2007.
Twelve years of experience selling boutique wine and spirits in the southern Alberta market afforded plenty of opportunities to learn and travel, bringing James to major wine producing regions throughout Canada, the US, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal, and South Africa.
His most recent role as the buyer for a Canadian-wide online wine subscription service further broadened his experience, but connecting wine professionals with top-quality producers is his true passion, so a return to boutique sales was only natural! When not talking about (and enjoying!) wine, James can usually be found playing piano, listening to records, reading, or cooking at home with his wife and two cats.
