In Celebration of Trialto 25yrs, we are putting a spotlight on our partner of 15years: Matchbook Wine Company. As a farm kid growing up in the late 1950´s and early 1960´s John Giguiere was a confirmed pyromaniac setting various things on fire such as his father´s wheat field. The winery is named Matchbook after this time of his life where fond memories are from. They are the only winery located in the Dunnigan Hills AVA, in California. A unique place in the Northwestern portion of Yolo County, where the days are hot and the nights are cool preserving the grapes natural acidity. Matchbook believes sustainable winegrape growing is an approach to working the land that keeps in mind the 3 E’s: increasing the quality of the Environment; protecting the health and safety of Employees; and maintaining Economic viability. To further illustrate Matchbook’s commitment to the environment, DIAM closures are used for all their wines. These are a special completely neutral cork closures, meaning consumers experience only the aromas and flavours that the winemaker intended. These closures use a chemical-free process, are recyclable, support a renewable resource in the cork tree, have achieved Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for their commitment to protecting a Mediterranean Ecosystem, and promote the economy by employing more than 30,000 workers every year.Thank you, Matchbook, for lighting a fire in our passion for wine!..#peopleplaceandtime #matchbookwines #dunniganhills #sustainable #yolocounty #matchbookwinery #familyowned #25thanniversary ... We are excited to now shine our spotlight on Yuki Hayashi! Yuki is an absolute superstar here at Trialto, as our Supply Chain Manager. Let’s get to know her better:✨Outside of work she is most passionate about hiking, swimming, cycling and traveling for food.✨Yuki just signed up for her first Ironman relay race this year! Go Yuki!✨Next wine region of her “most like to visit” list is Alto Adige in Italy to try the delicious wines and see the gorgeous scenery.✨Her favourite part about working at Trialto is being able to work with a team that is aligned with the same goals and enjoys collaboration.✨Yuki’s favourite quote is: “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing” – Walt Disney As the Supply Chain Manager Yuki ensures wine makes its way from the winery to our customers, as seamlessly as possible. We can’t celebrate our 25 year Anniversary without highlighting one of our partners for over 20 years: the iconic Domaine Faiveley from France!Founded in 1825, and based in Nuits St. Georges, Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's greatest domaines. Over seven generations the Faiveley family steadily acquired properties throughout the Cotes de Nuits, the Cotes de Beaune, Cotes Chalonnaise and now Chablis, establishing themselves as the most important vineyard owners in Burgundy. The domaine now includes an astonishing 10 hectares of Grands Crus , 25 hectares of Premiers Crus, and outstanding Monopole vineyards in the Cotes Chalonnaise. The list of Grands Crus reads like one of the most sublime poems ever written - Chambertin Clos Des Beze; Clos Vougeot; Echezeaux; Latricieres-Chambertin; Mazis-Chambertin; Musigny; Batard-Montrachet; Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet; Corton Clos des Corton Faiveley; Corton-Charlemagne - and represents a treasure trove of vinous tradition spanning many centuries.Until 2007 Domaine Faiveley was run by Francois Faiveley, who was deeply committed to preserving the austere, understated style of Burgundy that he considers to be classic. In 2007 Francois retired, passing the torch to his 25 year old son Erwan, who has utterly transformed the Domaine in his short time in charge, expanding vineyard holdings (especially chardonnay vineyards in Chablis, Meursault, and Puligny-Montrachet), updating the cellar, and producing wines full of fruit, complexity, and charm. He has also hired the dynamic and much-admired Jérôme Flous as Managing Director, further advancing the culture of change that now infuses the company. Eve Faiveley, Francois’ daughter, has also joined the team and is an integral part of running the Domaine today. Faiveley's wines are once again highly prized, considered by connoisseurs to be amongst the finest Burgundies in terms of quality and amongst the very finest in terms of value. It has been an honour to represent a winery that epitomizes People, Place and Time. ...
