We continue Trialto’s 25th anniversary celebration with a small family owned and operated winery, whose wines make a big impression on anyone lucky enough to enjoy them! Today we highlight the very special Domaine Jamet, from the Rhône Valley, in France!Located high above the town of Ampuis and the Rhône River, Domaine Jamet produces tiny quantities of stunning Côte-Rôtie. The estate was founded in the 1950’s by Joseph Jamet and he began domaine bottling in 1976. In 1991 his son’s Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul took charge of the business slowly acquiring small parcels to expand the estate. The estate is spread across 16 different lieux-dits with vines averaging between 25 and 50 years old. The oldest vines are over 60 years old. By continuing traditional practices, the Jamet family manages the vineyard on the upper slopes of Ampuis. Today Jean-Paul, his wife Corrine, and most recently eldest son Loïc, run 7 hectares of beautiful vineyards. Corinne, who joined the operation in the early 1990s, mainly manages the front office of the domaine. In contact with customers, she takes time to sample bottles, showing the work done by the team in the domaine and discuss the shared passion for wine. As for Loïc, his elder sister Fanny and his brother Dorian, he is now taking part in decision-making and works alongside his parents. The Jamets believe the "sum is greater than the parts ", so they prefer to produce a blend of Côtes Brune and Blonde rather than single-vineyard wines. Winemaking is deliberate, thoughtful and precise blending new and traditional concepts to produce a wine that speaks of its place. The resulting wines are some of the most perfumed, textured and finessed one will find anywhere in the world. This is a benchmark estate that consistently delivers monumental age worthy wines!Thank you Jamets for entrusting us for so many years to sell your beautiful wines. Cheers to many more great years together!#PeoplePlaceandTime#Trialto25thAnniversary#DomaineJamet@domainejamet ... See MoreSee Less

Melanie Eldridge is our Manager for Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She is vibrant, caring, attentive and we are excited for her to be this week’s Employee Spotlight! Let’s get to know her better:• The next wine trip she would like to experience is France. “I’d love to head to France and bike through Provence. I have this dreamy image of riding through lavender fields, a basket filled with rosé, fresh baguette and good local cheese. So many classic/founding regions to visit, to learn from and especially to taste the wines of Chablis, Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhone and the list goes on!”• For Melanie, Catena, from Argentina, has a special place in her heart: “I fell in love with Catena wines long before starting with Trialto. I was working for a private wines store at the time, I headed to the Vancouver wine festival and Richard set me up with a seminar of a back vintage Catena Malbecs. I loved the story that Catena tells and the attention to details they put into making their Malbecs. It’s no wonder they have some of the best Malbecs in the world.”• Her favourite part about her role at Trialto is being the only employee for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. “I cover lots of territory and get to meet so many great people. I look at my territory through the eyes of a manager, a sales rep, a marketer, an educator and a consumer. I love the diversity of it all and love wearing so many different hats for the company.”• Something you might not know about Melanie is she LOVES a good dress up party! “It’s so fun picking out a costume and getting all dressed up.”Big cheers to you Melanie for managing your territory with so much passion and grace! Cheers to many more years of celebrating wine together!#PeoplePlaceandTime#EmployeeSpotlight#2023SME#Trialto25thAnniversary ... See MoreSee Less

In celebration of Trialto’s 25th Anniversary, we are happy to shine a bright spotlight on a family winery that are pioneers in their region, both for wine making and for sustainability. It is the incredible Sokol Blosser, from Oregon, in the United States!Sokol Blosser is one of the original estates of the Oregon state wine industry. In 1971 when Bill Blosser and Susan Sokol Blosser began converting an old prune orchard into a vineyard they became one of five bonded wineries in the region. In the ensuing decades Oregon’s wine industry has grown (today there are over 500 wineries), changed and blossomed with Sokol Blosser at the forefront. Leading by example in their quest to produce exceptional wines while also promoting social and environmental responsibility. Sokol Blosser quickly gained international recognition for their wines receiving multiple gold medals at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in London in 1979. The winery continues to garner excellent press today. Long before sustainability became a buzz word in the wine industry Sokol Blosser have been implementing vineyard and winery practices with an eye towards future generations. In 1981 Sokol Blosser Vineyards was honored by the U.S. Soil and Water Conservation District because of Susan's innovative work with experimental cover crops to control erosion on hillside vineyards. In 1996 Sokol Blosser became the first winery to be certified “Salmon-Safe” by the Pacific Rivers Council and 1997 saw the estate join Low Input Viticulture and Enology (LIVE) a third party sustainability program run and audited by Oregon State University. Naturally, the next step was conversion to organic viticulture which began in 2002 and was completed in 2005. 2002 also saw the completion of the first LEED Certified winery building in the United States. Most recently Sokol Blosser achieved B corporation certification in 2015. Today the estate is run by Bill and Susan’s children – Alex and Alison Sokol Blosser. Alison is CEO and is a board member for both Oregon Pinot Camp and founding board member of the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association. In 2013 Alex became the winery’s fourth winemaker, having worked with all of the previous winemakers. Today he is the Winery President and Robin Howell has taken over as winemaker; making her the first female winemaker at Sokol Blosser. Both Alex and Alison are wonderful stewards of the Sokol Blosser legacy. Deeply committed to not just Sokol Blosser, but the entire Oregon Wine Industry’s success. The winery’s beautiful hillside vineyards produce lovely, balanced wines that are reflective of the region’s unique terroir. Sokol Blosser encapsulates everything which Trialto values in a partner. They are an exceptional representation of People, Place and Time. Cheers Sokol Blosser Family and Winery for many more great years together!#PeoplePlaceandTime#Trialto25thAnniversary#SokolBlosser@sokolblosser ... See MoreSee Less
