This fall, we were thrilled to welcome the one and only James Lindner from Langmeil Winery to Western Canada!! For those of you who don’t know James he’s a true legend in the wine world! The Langmeil Winery is home to the world’s oldest Shiraz vines at the Freedom 1843 Vineyard. 🌏🍷 But it doesn’t stop there. James and his family have been pioneering some of the most fascinating preservation efforts in Barossa, like their Orphan Bank project, where they literally uprooted and relocated ancient vines (some dating back to the 1860s!) to protect Barossa’s history for future generations. ![]()

As part of the Barossa Old Vine Charter, Langmeil has championed the preservation of heritage vines, adding depth and character to each bottle and ensuring that these old vines have a voice. The Charter is dedicated to preserving and honoring Barossa’s ancient vineyards, and James carries this mission with every visit and every pour. ![]()

From cozy tastings to extravagant dinners and engaging seminars, James traveled through Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver, bringing the Barossa story to life, introducing new faces to wine, and reconnecting with our long-time supporters. 🥂 A massive shoutout to Knowbie for organizing Barossa Uncorked, where James was able to dive deep into what makes Barossa and its wines truly exceptional. ![]()
